Gor Mahia’s strong presence in the national team setup has once again underlined the club’s importance to Kenyan football, with Bryne Odhiambo, Michael Kibwage, Frank Odhiambo, Ben Stanley and Sharif Musa earning places in Benni McCarthy’s final Harambee Stars squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The selection provides another proud moment for the Kenyan champions, as McCarthy continues to build a squad combining established names with emerging domestic talent.
Recent squad call-ups have also identified Gor Mahia as the Kenyan club supplying the largest contingent to the national setup.
For Gor Mahia, the call-ups are more than individual recognition, they highlight the depth of talent within the club and the role K’Ogalo continues to play in supplying players to the national team.
Kenya’s AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign includes matches against Eritrea and Guinea, with the Stars set to begin their campaign at home before travelling to Conakry.
Kenya is also one of the three co-hosts of AFCON 2027 alongside Uganda and Tanzania.
