In a statement released on Friday, July 11, 2025, the club’s Executive Committee confirmed Boniface Omondi will be leaving at when his contract expires in August.

Boniface Omondi, affectionately known as “Bajaj” among the Green Army, is widely admired for his blistering pace and big-match impact. He first joined Gor Mahia in 2017 from Nzoia Sugar and was instrumental in the club’s historic run of four consecutive league titles from 2017 to 2020.

After a brief stint with Wazito FC in 2020, Omondi returned to K’Ogalo and added two more trophies under head coach Johnathan McKinstry. Over his time with the club, he scored 25 goals in all competitions, including three goals against archrivals AFC Leopards.

One of his most memorable contributions came in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup, when he won a decisive penalty against Petro de Luanda, securing Gor Mahia’s qualification to the quarter-finals, a milestone in the club’s recent continental journey.

As he moves on to the next chapter in his career, the Gor Mahia family remains grateful for his dedication, professionalism, and the unforgettable moments he provided.
