Our signing Michael Kibwage has described his transfer to the record Kenyan champions as a bold but necessary step in his career progression.
Speaking after completing the move, the Harambee Stars defender admitted the decision was not easy, but one he felt was right for his long-term ambitions.
“It was not an easy move to make. I had to be bold enough because it was the right move for my career growth,” Kibwage said.
“I have played for several clubs, but I needed a new environment to advance my career. Joining Gor Mahia is a step up and a move towards realizing my dreams.”
Kibwage, who impressed in Kenya’s recent CHAN campaign, expressed his excitement at the opportunity to play for a club with Gor Mahia’s stature and expectations.
“The move excites me. The club has a huge, demanding fan base and I relish playing under that pressure. It will enable me to step out of my comfort zone, help me maintain my place in the national team, and prepare me to cope on the international stage.”
The 26-year-old added that his performances at CHAN 2024 boosted his confidence and will inspire him to make an immediate impact.
