As the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 kicks off in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda at the end of July, Gor Mahia FC is proud to announce that five players from the club have been called up to represent Harambee Stars.

The selected quintet includes: Alphonce Omija, Sylvester Owino, Austin Odhiambo, Alpha Onyango and Ben Stanley

Their inclusion in the national squad is a well-deserved recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the season. While the club narrowly missed out on silverware this past campaign, these five players stood out with consistent displays that caught the eye of Harambee Stars head coach Benny McCarthy.

In Kenya’s most recent international fixture against Chad, Alpha Onyango wore the captain’s armband, highlighting his emergence as a key leader on and off the pitch.

Midfield maestro Austin Odhiambo will be tasked with providing creativity and vision in the final third, while Omija and Owino bring defensive solidity that has been a hallmark of their game. Promising forward Ben Stanley also gets the nod, rounding off a strong Gor Mahia presence in the national squad.

We are proud of their achievements and wish them the very best as they represent the country on home soil.
