Gor Mahia produced a thrilling second-half comeback to defeat Murang’a Seal 3–2 after trailing by two goals in a dramatic league encounter played at Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The visitors stunned us with a blistering start, taking the lead as early as the fourth minute when Joe Waithera found the back of the net.

Matters worsened in the 18th minute after Francis Memusi double Murang’a Seal’s advantage, leaving us with a mountain to climb. Despite pushing for a response, we went into the halftime break trailing 2–0.

A revitalised Gor Mahia emerged for the second half and wasted no time in swinging the momentum. Just a minute after the restart, Felix Oluoch pulled one back, calmly finishing to register his sixth goal of the campaign and ignite belief among the Green Army faithful.

Barely two minutes later, parity was restored in fortunate circumstances when Paul Ochuoga’s effort took a decisive deflection, resulting in an own goal that made it 2–2.

With confidence surging, we went on the offensive, pinning Murang’a Seal back as they searched relentlessly for a winner.

The decisive moment arrived in the 82nd minute when Ghanaian forward Ebenezer Assifuah marked his debut in style, slotting home the winning goal to complete a remarkable turnaround and send Kasarani into celebration.

The victory propels Gor Mahia to the top of the league table on goal difference, leapfrogging AFC Leopards and doing so with a game in hand, as the title race continues to gather momentum.
