Winger Ebenezer Adu-kwaw is undergoing medical care after sustaining an injury during a physical encounter with Bandari FC during yesterday’s ODM@20 final match in Mombasa.
The incident occurred following a direct collision with a Bandari FC player, resulting in a direct contact injury to Adu-kwaw’s upper arm.
The impact caused severe pain and immediate concern, leading to the administration of emergency care on the field.
Despite the initial treatment, Ebenezer who scored the lone goal that handed us the trophy continued to experience significant discomfort and a limited range of motion in his shoulder. Due to the persistent symptoms, he was evacuated from the stadium to a nearby hospital for a comprehensive evaluation.
The club medical team provided an update, confirming the nature of the injury. Team Doctor Brian Odongo stated: “Medical assessment and imaging confirmed a soft tissue injury to the shoulder region.”
While the diagnosis rules out more severe damage like a fracture, the player’s timeline for recovery remains uncertain.
Dr. Odongo emphasised a cautious approach, noting: “He is currently under medical management with a further follow-up planned to monitor recovery and determine readiness for return to play.”
