Gor Mahia begin the second leg of the 2025/26 SportPesa League with a crucial away fixture against Bidco FC tomorrow, kicking off at 4:00 pm at Kasarani Stadium.

With the title race finely poised, K’Ogalo know that maximum points are essential to maintain their position at the summit, while any dropped points could invite pressure from the chasing pack.

Bidco have proven to be stubborn opponents since their promotion to the top flight. In 11 league meetings, Gor Mahia have managed four wins, five draws, and two defeats, with only one victory in the last five encounters.

The challenge is further underlined by the 1–0 defeat suffered in the first leg at the start of the season, a result that still lingers as unfinished business for 21-time champions.

Despite that setback, Gor Mahia approach the fixture with confidence, built on visible improvements in performance and cohesion. Head coach Charles Akonnor believes his side is better prepared this time around and ready to assert control.

“We have prepared adequately and we believe we are in a very good shape,” Akonnor said ahead of the match. “This is a new day, a new moment, and a new approach. Our style of play has improved…we move the ball very quickly, we counter-press, we are compact, and we make sure we control the game. In the first match we dominated but conceded; this time we will be better and we believe we are in a good position to get the victory.”

Team leader Michael Kibwage echoed the coach’s optimism, pointing to the positive atmosphere within the squad and the importance of focus as the second half of the season begins.

“The mood in the camp is very good. We are a full house despite a few knocks,” Kibwage noted.

“We know the history of this fixture and what happened in the first leg, but the confidence is now in the team. Every player understands the magnitude of this game. There is no room for laxity, we must win our games to keep pace at the top of the table.”

While Bidco have historically posed problems, Gor Mahia can draw encouragement from their consistency away from home in the first leg, where they remained unbeaten across seven matches.
