Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor has reaffirmed that his side remains fully focused on doing whatever it takes to achieve the best possible results as they approach a crucial league clash.

Speaking during Sunday’s training session at Kasarani Stadium, the gaffer made it clear that the team is well aware of the task ahead.

“We are focused to do what it takes to win the match,” Akonnor said.

“We are aware of the task ahead of us, and we have been able to psyche the boys. We are looking forward to the match on Tuesday.”

The tactician’s confident tone suggests K’Ogalo is leaving nothing to chance as they prepare to face Tusker in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.

Echoing his coach’s sentiments, midfielder Alpha Onyango revealed that preparations have been smooth since the team resumed training.

“Preparation has been good since we resumed training, and we look forward to the match against Tusker,” Onyango said.

The midfielder also addressed the pressure that comes with sitting at the top of the standings, admitting it is real, but insisting the squad remains calm and composed.

“Yes, it comes with pressure, but as players, we are calm, and we know what is expected of us to deliver,” Onyango stated. “Inshallah, everything will be fine on Tuesday.”

With a focused coach and a composed squad, Gor Mahia will be hoping to turn their strong preparations into three vital points when they take on Tusker in midweek fixture at Wang’uru Stadium in Mwea, Kirinyaga.
