Gor Mahia face Mara Sugar in rescheduled tie

May 27, 2026

Newly crowned league champions Gor Mahia will take on Mara Sugar today in a rescheduled Premier League match at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay with kick-off set for 2pm.

The fixture is the second-last match of the season for K’Ogalo. Originally scheduled for last Sunday, the game was thrown into uncertainty after the Sports Disputes Tribunal (STD) issued an order suspending the proceedings.

However, the High Court later granted the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) the green light to proceed, allowing the match to go ahead as now planned.

Gor Mahia enter today’s contest having already secured the league title with two matches to spare. Their coronation was confirmed on Sunday after APS Bomet defeated second-placed AFC Leopards in Kericho, a result that handed K’Ogalo an unassailable lead at the summit.

The champions currently sit at the top of the table with 68 points, four clear of AFC Leopards who have only one match remaining in their campaign.

After today’s clash in Homa Bay, the Gor Mahia contingent will fly back to Nairobi, departing from Kisumu International Airport at 8pm.

The team will then turn its focus to Sunday’s final match of the season against Nairobi United at Nyayo Stadium where they will look to cap off their title-winning campaign in style.
