Gor Mahia patron Eliud Owalo today presented the club with a Sh1 million token of appreciation after they clinched a record-extending 22nd SportPesa League title.
The coronation capped a memorable campaign for K’Ogalo, who were crowned champions on Sunday before thousands of ecstatic fans at Nyayo National Stadium.
Speaking during a luncheon at the Carnivore Hotel in Nairobi, Owalo thanked the entire K’Ogalo family for remaining steadfast through a long and tedious season. He praised the office, technical bench, playing unit and fans for their resilience, maturity and sportsmanship throughout the campaign.
“The teamwork exhibited by the K’ogalo family, particularly the office which has been the glue holding the club together, was remarkable. They remained positive and optimistic to keep the ship steady,” he said.
Owalo urged the team to aim higher and win the CAF Champions League, pledging to work with the club office to create an enabling environment for that assignment.
Chairman Ambrose Rachier thanked the patron for his generosity all season, calling it a key morale booster in the team’s title success.
The luncheon was attended by club officials, the technical bench and the playing unit.
