Once again, we underlined their importance to the national team setup after six of our players earned call-ups to the national team, Harambee Stars provisional squad selected by head coach Benni McCarthy.

The heavy representation is a major boost and highlights the quality within their squad as McCarthy continues to build a competitive national team.

Among the players who have featured in McCarthy’s selections are shot stopper Byrne Omondi, Michael Kibagwe, Paul Ochuoga, Frank Odhiambo, Sharif Musa and Ben Stanley.

Recent Harambee Stars selections have consistently included a strong contingent from the Green Army.

The inclusion of the six players is also a reflection of Gor Mahia’s contribution to Kenyan football, with several of their players having gained valuable international experience through the national team and CHAN competitions.
