We picked up our first win of the 2025/26 SportPesa League campaign with a determined 2-0 triumph over Sofapaka FC in our second league outing at Dandora Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

First-Half Battle
Coming into the fixture under pressure after an opening-day defeat, Charles Akonnor’s boys endured a challenging start as Sofapaka pressed early but we gradually settled into the contest as Austine Odhiambo, Alpha Onyango, and Enock Morrisson began dictating play in midfield.

Our breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when a corner sparked a scramble inside Sofapaka’s box. Our Ghanaian striker Ebenezer Adu-kwaw reacted quickest, forcing the ball over the line to give us the lead.

We then missed the chance to double the advantage six minutes later after Austine Odhiambo was fouled inside the area, but his penalty was saved by Sofapaka goalkeeper Victor Kamungo, keeping in the game. We went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Adu-kwaw at the Double
The second half saw Sofapaka push forward in search of an equaliser, but our defence, well marshalled by Kibwage and Bryton Onyona, stood firm.

In the 55th minute, Adukwaw sent the green army into a frenzy, when after receiving a pass from Austine Odhiambo, he turned and unleashed a looping effort from 20 yards that beat Kamungo and nestled under the crossbar for 2-0.

That goal gave us control of proceedings, with Morrisson and Alpha Onyango maintaining composure in midfield. Sheriff Musa almost made it three with a curling shot that drifted narrowly wide, late substitute Christopher Ochieng nearly added gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time, forcing Kamungo into a fine fingertip save, but by then the points were secure.

A Vital First Win
At the final whistle, we sealed a 2-0 victory, a result that lifts spirits after the opening-day setback. With Ebenezer Adu-kwaw netting twice and the team showing resilience at the back, K’Ogalo can look ahead to their next fixture with renewed confidence.
