January 31, 2026
Three first-half goals powered Gor Mahia to a commanding 3–0 victory over Sofapaka at Nyayo Stadium, a dominant display that saw K’Ogalo extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.
Frank Odhiambo marked his first start since rejoining the club in perfect fashion, opening the scoring in the 13th minute with a well-directed header from Enock Morrison’s delivery. Just five minutes later, Odhiambo’s central defensive partner Sylvester Owino doubled the advantage, rising highest to finish off a perfect delivery from Jackson Dwang as Gor tightened their grip on the contest.
The rout was completed in the 31st minute when Shariff Musa was bundled down in the area, earning Gor Mahia a penalty.
Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw stepped up and calmly converted, registering his third goal in three matches against Batoto Ba Mungu and underlining his growing influence in the attack.
With a comfortable cushion going into the break, Gor Mahia controlled proceedings in the second half, managing the game with composure and the assured performance allowed Coach Charles Akonnor’s side to see out the match professionally, completing a league double over Sofapaka this season.
It was another statement win from the league leaders built on defensive solidity, clinical finishing, and collective discipline  as Gor Mahia continue to set the pace in the title race.
