Assistant captain Mike Kibwage has declared that they have already buried their emphatic 5-0 victory over APR and are now fully locked in on tomorrow’s crucial Group A encounter against Ugandan side Vipers SC at the Kigali Pele Stadium.

The team is just one win away from sealing a spot in the CECAFA 2026 semi-finals, but Kibwage insists there will be no complacency as they prepare for what promises to be a tougher test against the Ugandan outfit.

Speaking ahead of the 4pm Kenyan time kick-off, the defender-turned-goalscorer who opened the floodgates with a goal in Friday’s demolition of APR, made it clear that the past result counts for nothing now.

“We are so happy about our last game which we won convincingly, but you are always as good as your next game. For us, we have put that aside and we know why we are in this tournament,” Kibwage stated.

The assistant captain exuded confidence in his teammates’ readiness for the high-stakes duel.

“I believe we are ready for tomorrow’s game. We are going to approach it with some seriousness like the previous one. Every player in our side always knows what to do and they know what is ahead of us. We are hopeful and confident we will do a good job tomorrow,” he affirmed.
