Mid-season review: Checking on progress so far

January 22, 2026

With the league reaching its halfway point, we take a moment to reflect on our position and performance, measured against the same stage last season. The numbers tell a story of clear progress, renewed consistencyvand a team firmly on course in the title race.

At the midpoint of the campaign, K’Ogalo sit at the summit of the table with 33 points. This represents a significant improvement from last season, when the team found themselves in fourth place at the same stage with 27 points.

The six-point swing and three-place climb underline the strides made in terms of results and consistency.

From an attacking perspective, there has been remarkable continuity. Gor Mahia have scored 25 goals this season, exactly the same tally achieved at the halfway mark last year.

The key difference lies at the other end of the pitch. Defensively, the team has tightened up, conceding 11 goals compared to 13 last season, contributing to a healthier goal difference of +14.

Perhaps the most telling indicator of progress is found in the results column. This season has yielded 10 wins at the halfway stage, two more than the eight recorded last year.

At the same time, losses have been reduced from five to three, a reflection of improved game management and the ability to grind out results even on difficult days.

As we prepare to embark on the second half of the campaign, the foundation appears stronger than it was a year ago. With improved points accumulation, greater defensive solidity, and sustained attacking output, the focus now shifts to maintaining momentum, navigating the challenges ahead and turning a promising midseason position into a successful title-winning finish.
