Forward Shariff Musa has called on the club’s passionate supporters to turn up in large numbers and rally behind the team as preparations for upcoming CAF Champions League assignment continues to gather pace.
Musa said the squad has been steadily preparing for the continental test and is focused on ensuring they ready for the challenge ahead.
We are set to face Egyptian giants Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary round on Sunday, with the tie expected to provide an early test in continental quest.
“Preparations are going on well and we are working hard every day to make sure that we are ready for the match. We need our fans to come out in large numbers and support us because their support gives us extra motivation,” Musa said.
The forward, who impressed during Gor Mahia’s recent CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign, believes the backing of the Green Army could play a crucial role when the team takes on the Egyptian opposition.
Musa’s sentiments were echoed by teammate Paul Ochuoga, who urged supporters to remain behind the players as they continue fine-tuning their preparations.
“We are preparing well and everyone in the team understands what is expected of us. We are asking our fans to believe in us, come to the stadium and support the team from the first minute to the last,” Ochuoga said.
Musa’s call for fan support comes at a time when Gor Mahia are also celebrating a strong representation in the provisional Harambee Stars squad with coach Benni McCarthy naming six Gor Mahia players, including Musa and Ochuoga, in the 38-man squad for the upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
With preparations continuing, Musa and Ochuoga will be hoping their call resonates with K’Ogalo fans as the club prepares for a demanding continental campaign.
