We bid farewell to defender Geoffrey Ochieng, affectionately known as “Simiti” to the Green Army, as he departs the club after several memorable years in green.
Simiti joined the us from Western Stima in 2018 and helped the us win four premier league titles and the 2021 FKF Cup.
Blessed with pace, composure on the ball and an eye for a telling cross, Geoffrey became an integral part of Gor Mahia’s defensive unit. His versatility also allowed him to operate higher up the flank whenever called upon, making him an invaluable asset to the team over the years.
Although injuries interrupted parts of his final seasons at the club, Geoffrey remained committed to the team’s cause, working tirelessly to return to action and providing valuable experience within the squad.
Beyond the league triumphs, Geoffrey represented Gor Mahia in domestic cup competitions and on the continental stage, proudly wearing the green and white jersey against some of Africa’s top clubs. His professionalism, humility and commitment earned him the respect of teammates, coaches and supporters alike.
Everyone at Gor Mahia Football Club thanks Geoffrey Ochieng for his years of dedicated service and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.
